Requirements to file for
Permanent Residency in Canada under
skilled worker category
Skilled
Professionals are assessed based
upon a series of factors, which are
designed to indicate the likelihood
of becoming economically established
in Canada. To qualify as a skilled
worker, you must have a combination
of education, job skills,
experience, knowledge of English
and/or French, personal suitability
and adaptability which includes
Education of accompanying Spouse or
Common-law partner of the Principal
Applicant, previous Education and
Work Experience in Canada, Job Offer
in Canada, Family relationship in
Canada.
Besides this you
must have sufficient funds with
which to immigrate to Canada, be in
good health and do not have any
criminal record. Each factor is
allotted a maximum number of points
and you must attain at least 67
points in order to qualify for a
Canadian Immigrant Visa. The
assessment is done on the basis of
following factors: You are required
to clear background checks, medical
examination and meet the financial
requirements. In case the Canadian
authorities are not satisfied, they
can reject the case.
You may apply for
Canadian citizenship after you have
been physically present in Canada
for 3 years out of 4 years prior to
your application. As Canada
recognizes dual-citizenship you may
be able to retain the citizenship of
your homeland
